In the 2021 data collection:
- 'There were 197 prisoners living in, or presenting in, a gender different to their sex assigned at birth and who have had a local case board. Of these, 158 reported their legal gender7 as male, 39 reported their legal gender as female. When asked about the gender with which the prisoner identified from the following categories, 146 identified as female, 39 as male, 11 as non-binary and 1 did not provide a response.'
